The story of Château de Pommard began in the reign of Louis XV in the 18th century, when the king’s secretary built a castle among the vineyards. It's one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, and today the château and its 20-hectare walled vineyard, Clos Marey-Monge, are collectively recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This elegant, mature Pinot Noir is a stellar example of the world-class quality Château de Pommard is famed for. Winemaker Emmanuel Sala ensures that only indigenous yeasts found on the grapes' skins are used in fermentation, bringing layers of complex flavours to the finished wine. Discover aromas of raspberry and cassis, plus savoury notes of game, mushroom, earthy spice and dried flowers. Nearly two years' ageing in French oak gives it a smooth and elegant texture that will pair beautifully with duck or mature cheeses.
